We are a very easy family to get along with...helpful if you need, out of the way if you tell us to move. We had one nurse in CCU actually yell at us and bark orders at us: "come over here... no go over there....no wait out in the hall....no...COME IN HERE AND GET YOUR STUFF OUT....go to the new floor....or maybe not." Nice way for the nurse to speak to us, don't you think? Well, the new floor didn't know what to do with us and we're standing in the middle of the stroke unit holding everything from Dad's room not knowing where to go. It was surreal.

I am happy to have this forum to express my opinion of your facility and staff. I was recently a patient for 5+ days starting in the ER and eventually in 3 South. The professionalism, attentiveness and compassion I experienced from the ER to the floor was incredible. I include the support services such as housekeeping and food services as well. I am a business man who runs a service business and I appreciate the emphasis on service and care that I not only experienced but what I observed around me. The nurses and assistants on 3 South were just incredible! You should be very proud of your organization.

Maternity floor has an amazing staff that catered to our every need. They took great care of us from the moment we entered and most importantly took great care of our newborn son. I was ready to be a critic as my wife preferred to drive over an he away to make sure we had our birth here. The staff didn't disappoint. Regular check ins, made sure our room was clean/sanitary, and made sure we were comfortable. They did all of the important little things to make us feel important. I was impressed to the point that I actually decided to write this while still here. Great job!

My dad went into the hospital after having a heart attack. The ambulance driver recommended OCM to my mom and said they were excellent in treating heart patients. I wish he had kept his mouth shut. I can't believe I can say this...but OCM made going through my dad's death even worse. Some of the people in this hospital were not only inept, but downright indifferent to a dying man and his grieving family. My dad fell out of bed (over the guard rail} while in the Critical Care Unit (boy that's some "care"} He got a huge black eye (He died with that black eye} split the side of his eye open and had internal bleeding in his stomach which caused him a great deal of additional and UNNECESSARY pain. How does a 93 year old man go over the bed's guard rail while he is getting the most intense care? Then 2 days later a nasty, impatient nurse pulled the monitor pole down on my mom's head and cracked her head open. Nasty McNurse then said...."It's fine, I'm right here." It's fine???? I didn't think it was fine that there was blood pouring all over my mom's face from the gash on her head. Mom ended up spending the day in the Emergency Room and came away with a cat scan and 6 stitches. Then, we had to move Dad to the hospice floor. We were told what caring people were on that floor and they were really great about dealing with such a difficult issue. Maybe that's true, but I don't know since the nurses hardly came around in the days that we were on that floor.

From the moment I arrived to the day I went home the Nurse's and Nurses aids where on the mark. Helpful and friendly when we interacted. The Dr. did not seem rushed, took all the time I needed to feel comfortable with my health plan moving forward. I know the jokes about hospital food. Being a foodie I was apprehensive about meals. Wow I was happily surprised... keep up the great work!

Seriously, when I say this place made my dad's death even worse, it's not an overstatement. If you want a pretty looking hospital, then this is it. If you want quality care, I'd go elsewhere. Laurie Carty

Thank you Lisa P. and Lisa F. for managing all of my appointments at the wellness center associated with Ocean Medical. Attention to detail and willingness to get me started in the program was evident and really appreciated.
